“Winterization” is a series of projects carried out by arcenciel and UNICEF which aims to ensure that vulnerable children living in Akkar are less exposed to the risks associated with cold temperatures.
The first project, “Winterizarion I 2014/2015”, works on providing winter clothes to children up to 14 years living in 50 Informal Settlements, by conducting household assessments and direct distributions by UNICEF vendors within those settlements.
The second project, “Winterizarion II 2015”, aims to facilitate the distribution of winter clothes vouchers by selecting and contracting with local vendors. Those local shops are part of the “Voucher Exchange Program” which supports the distribution of vouchers in Social Development Centers, monitors shops, and finalizes payments to vendors.
